Based on Mandy Budan I painted this White Rose. With her style she paints the background within the foreground which is why the white rose does not look white but blue. The center is yellow, the complementary colour to blue.
This is a colour pencil drawing of a pink lily with rain drop moving down the petal. I used complementary colours for the highlights and the shadows, using yellow in the highlights and blue/ purple in the shadows.
On this glass panel I painted Mackintosh styled roses, I used mainly complementary colours to create contrast and I layered the paint to form tones, which also formed depth.
This oil painting has been inspired by the artist Susanna Shap. The black background has been smoothed down with a palette knife and I used the sgraffito technique to draw out the tree. For the blossoms I glued on small red flowers.
